ANDREW ALWAYS SHOWED A FLAIR FOR INNOVATION
After spending many years working for a global management consulting company, I decided to start my own firm. I had a lot of autonomy when I ran my own consulting company, but I missed the collegiality, intellectual capital development and teaming present at a larger consultancy. In November 2003, I joined Archstone Consulting as a Director. I was attracted by the opportunity to grow a company from scratch. Archstone Consulting offered the best of both worlds; the autonomy of growing a small, new company, with the potential to become a larger company. It was also terrific to be able to hire and team with smart, fun colleagues to grow the firm to the size it is today.
I enjoy the variety of work in the strategy and consumer products practices. The opportunity to lead client engagements as well as work on interesting and thought-provoking intellectual capital has always appealed to me. Two client projects have been strategy projects conducted at the board level. The opportunity to make this level of impact on Fortune 500 companies is truly rewarding and fulfilling. Outside of client work, I co-lead our retail forecast study and one of our core recruiting schools. Last year I was asked to help with the integration of The Hazelton Group. Hazelton was Archstone Consulting’s first acquisition. As part of this role I have been working on Hazelton projects, developing marketing strategies with the Hazelton team and have been actively seeking to expand Hazelton’s US footprint. This has been a new and fascinating challenge.
