Michael D. McKinney

Principal

Michael McKinney is a Principal of Archstone Consulting and has more than 18 years of management consulting and industry experience.

He is a recognized leader in developing and implementing strategic programs to improve his clients' operating flexibility, speed to market, and cost effectiveness. He has worked with global and multinational companies in aerospace and defense, high tech manufacturing, distribution, and pharmaceuticals. He has assisted his clients in the areas of IT operating model design, IT outsourcing strategy and implementation, IT strategy and operations, IT cost optimization, logistics and transportation, organizational transformation, program management, sales and operations planning, and supply chain and operations.

Over the past few years, his focus has been in designing IT operating models for his clients that consider operational constraints and dynamic business environments. He has also worked extensively in IT outsourcing, covering all stages of the outsourcing lifecycle - strategy, procurement, negotiation, implementation, and restructuring.

Prior to joining Archstone Consulting, Mr. McKinney served as a leader in Deloitte Consulting's IT and manufacturing practices. While in industry, he was responsible for business and systems analysis for a leading pharmaceutical distributor.

Mr. McKinney has co-authored and contributed to a number of thought leadership materials including: "Value Chain Collaboration within Aerospace and Defense," "The CIO Management Framework," "Business Continuity Planning and the Business Impact Analysis," and "The Business Value of IT Outsourcing."

Education

Mr. McKinney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University.
